Something not working, or a question about Twine?

It helps to tell us your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when things went wrong. Please don't send your password. We'll never ask for it.

Common questions

How do I connect with my partner?

Open the Us tab. One of you taps Create a Code and sends it over; the other enters it under They Already Have a Code and taps Join Them. You only need to do this once.

Why can't I see my partner's photo?

That's the lock. On each date, your partner's photo stays hidden until you've added yours, and yours stays hidden from them until they've added theirs. As soon as you've both posted, both photos unlock.

How do I log a date?

Tap the round + button on the map, pick the place (or let Twine find where you are), and take your photo of your partner. You can add a category, whose idea it was, and one line about it.

Do I have to allow location?

No. Location helps Twine pin a date to where you are and show nearby places first. Without it, just search for the place by name. You can change this any time in iPhone Settings → Twine → Location.

How do I change my app color, name or photo?

Tap the gear at the top of any tab to open Settings. You can pick a different thread color, change your name, and add or remove your profile photo there.

How do I delete a date?

Open the date and tap Delete Date. It's removed for both of you, along with both photos. This can't be undone.

Who can see what I post?

Your partner, always. The couples who follow you see a date only when you both choose to share it. They never see a line you've kept between you, your map, or your date ideas. Every date starts private. Read more in our privacy policy.

How do we follow another couple?

Tap the add-a-couple button (two people and a plus) at the top, next to Settings, and type either partner's first name or the couple's @username, then tap Follow to ask. Your button says Requested until either of them accepts; then you both see their shared dates in your Feed, since follows belong to your couple. To take back a request, tap Requested. To see who follows you and who you follow, tap the counts under your names on Us.

Someone asked to follow us. Where do we answer?

A dot appears on Notifications, the bell. Open it and you'll see Follow Requests at the top. Either of you can tap Accept or Decline. They aren't told if you decline.

How do likes and comments work?

On a shared date in your Feed, tap the heart to like it or the speech bubble to comment. Tap the counts to see who liked it and read the comments. Only the couple who shared the date and the couples who follow them can see its likes and comments. When someone likes or comments on a date you shared, it shows up in Notifications, with a dot until you look. You can delete your own comments, and any comment on a date the two of you shared.

How do I report something, or block a couple?

On a shared date, tap … at the top right. On a comment, tap the flag. On a couple's profile, tap Report or Block at the bottom. Pick a reason and send it. We review reports within 24 hours, and they aren't told who reported them. Blocking ends any follows between you, and they can't find you.

How do I invite friends to Twine?

Tap the add-a-couple button at the top, then Invite Friends to Twine. On iPhone, pick someone from your contacts and tap Invite to send them a text with a link to Twine. Your contacts stay on your phone; Twine never uploads them. On the web, tap Share Invite Link instead.

How do we share a date, or keep it private?

When you post your photo, pick Just Us or Followers under Who Can See This Date. It's shared only once you've both picked Followers. Turn on Keep my line between us to share the photos but not your line. You can change either later with Edit Date.

What happens if we untwine?

Either of you can untwine from Settings. Your couple pauses for 90 days: other couples can't find or see you, and your dates and photos are kept. Either of you can ask to retwine and the other confirms. After 90 days, everything is deleted for good. It goes sooner if either of you chooses Delete Now. Save your photos first from the paused screen.

Delete your account

You can delete your Twine account yourself, in the app:

  1. Open Settings (the gear at the top).
  2. Tap Delete Account at the bottom.
  3. Read what's deleted, type DELETE, and tap Delete My Account.

Your profile photo, likes, comments and your couple's follows are deleted right away, and your login is disabled. If you're twined, your partner keeps your shared dates for 90 days so they can save them; then they're deleted for good. If you're not twined, everything is deleted right away. Want your shared dates gone sooner? Untwine first, choose Delete Now, then delete your account.

Can't get into the app? Email us instead:

  1. Email support@twine-official.com from the email address you use to sign in to Twine, with the subject "Delete my Twine account".
  2. We'll reply to confirm the request came from you.
  3. Within 30 days, we delete your account the same way, as if you'd done it in the app.

Good to know: dates in Twine belong to both of you, so deleting your account also deletes the dates and date ideas you shared. They'll disappear from your partner's Twine too. Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account.
